The record low price was set following the results of the auction for the construction of a WPP in Kazakhstan
On November 20, 2023, auctions were held for the selection of renewable energy wind power projects for the Southern zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
4 companies were allowed to participate in the auction, 7 price offers were submitted by the participants during the trading session. The total volume of applications submitted was 116.5 MW.
The starting maximum auction price was 22.68 tg/kWh (excluding VAT). There is a decrease in the price range of applications from 22.68 to 10.49 tg/kWh (excluding VAT).
The lowest price from the starting auction price for the selection of projects for the construction of WPP has been set - 10.49 tg/kWh (excluding VAT).
According to the results of the auction, the winner was determined by the company – LLP «Uranus Wind», the installed capacity of the project is 50 MW, the auction price is 10.49 tg/kWh (without VAT). The project is planned to be placed in the Turkestan region.
Representatives of NCE «Atameken», ALE «KAZENERGY», ALE «Kazakhstan Electric Power Association», and the Asian Development Bank took part as observers. Observers noted the transparency of the electronic trading system of the auction organizer - JSC «KOREM».
The next auction is scheduled for November 21, 2023 for the selection of WPP projects for the Northern zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with a total installed capacity of 100 MW.
