The price has been reduced by 48% from the maximum auction price for the selection of projects for the construction of WPP in Kazakhstan
On November 16, 2023, auctions were held for the selection of renewable energy wind power station projects for the Northern Zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
7 companies were allowed to participate in the auction, 16 price offers were submitted by the participants during the trading session. The total volume of applications submitted was 215 MW.
The starting maximum auction price was 22.68 tg/kWh (excluding VAT). There is a decrease in the price range of applications from 22.68 to 11.88 tg/kWh (excluding VAT). The price has been reduced by 48% from the maximum auction price for the selection of projects for the construction of wind farms.
According to the results of the auction, the winner was determined by the company – LLP «Jupiter Wind», the installed capacity of the project is 50 MW, the auction price is 11.88 tg/kWh (without VAT). The project is planned to be placed in Kostanay region.
It should be noted that according to the Auction Schedule, 3 auctions with a total capacity of 200 MW were raffled this year for the Kostanay region of the Northern zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ALE «Kazakhstan Electric Power Association», ALE «KAZENERGY» and UNDP took part as observers.
The next auction is scheduled for November 17, 2023 for the selection of wind power station projects for the Southern zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
