The Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan will promptly consider draft laws in the field of electric power

Today, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev opened the first session of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the VIII convocation.

The Head of State called for a review of approaches to infrastructure development. He also noted that on his instructions, a new model for the development of the electric power market is being developed, aimed at attracting additional investments in the industry while increasing the transparency of the work of all its participants.

In his address, the President recalled that the Majilis has bills related to the electric power industry and instructed the deputy corps to promptly consider and adopt appropriate legislative changes.

It should be noted that on March 16, 2023, two bills were adopted at the Plenary session of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

- «On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on administrative reform»;

- «On amendments to the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offences».

For the first time in the history of the country, the Law «On Heat Power», which is under consideration by the Majilis, should be adopted. This Law regulates public relations arising in the process of production, transportation, sale (supply) and consumption of thermal energy for municipal and industrial needs, creation, functioning, development of heat supply systems and state regulation in the field of heat power in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich proposed to adopt a National Infrastructure Plan aimed at forming a sustainable infrastructure framework of the country. In which it is necessary to reflect the main problems of infrastructure development and identify key projects that will be implemented by 2029.
