The auction process for the selection of small hydropower plant (HPP) construction projects in Kazakhstan, which became the final stage within the framework of the current auction schedules approved by the authorized body, has been completed.

   On May 22, 2026, auction trading for the selection of hydropower plant (HPP) construction projects with a total installed capacity of 50 MW was held across all zones of the Unified Power System (UPS) of the Republic of Kazakhstan.    Five companies were admitted to participate in the auction trading. During the trading session, participants submitted five price bids, while the total volume of submitted applications amounted to 21.5 MW.    Following the auction results, the winners were recognized as follows: LLP “Orbulaq Energy” — project installed capacity: 4.9 MW; auction price: KZT 41 per kWh (excluding VAT); LLP “QazQuat” — project installed capacity: 2.4 MW; auction price: KZT 40.80 per kWh (excluding VAT); LLP “Zhastar Quat Company” — project installed capacity: 2.7 MW; auction price: KZT 40.95 per kWh (excluding VAT); LLP “Arasan HPP” — project installed capacity: 4.5 MW; auction price: KZT 41.22 per kWh (excluding VAT); LLP “Company A&T-Energo A” — project installed capacity: 7 MW; auction price: KZT 41.23 per kWh (excluding VAT).    Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan Electric Power Association, and the Qazaq Green Renewable Energy Association participated in the auction as observers. The observers confirmed the transparency and proper functioning of the electronic trading system operated by JSC “KOREM”.    Additionally, in accordance with the 2026 Auction Trading Schedule approved by Order No. 69-н/қ of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 16, 2026, a total of nine auctions with an aggregate capacity of 915 MW have been conducted to date. All auctions were organized and held in full compliance with the approved schedules. At the same time, one auction for large-scale solar power plants (50 MW) was declared invalid due to an insufficient number of participants.    As of today, within the framework of the 2026 auction trading schedule, 16 renewable energy projects with a total installed capacity of 753.11 MW have been selected, including: Wind Power Plants (WPPs) — 450 MW, Solar Power Plants (SPPs) — 245 MW, Hydropower Plants (HPPs) — 58.11 MW (large HPPs — 36.61 MW, small HPPs — 21.5 MW).    According to the results of the auctions conducted to date within the framework of the 2026 auction schedule, the maximum reduction in auction prices by project type amounted to: SPPs — 9.0%, WPPs — 48.57%, HPPs — 1.04%.    JSC “KOREM” continues to ensure transparency and competitiveness in the conduct of renewable energy auctions.

Auction Bidding for the Selection of Large Hydropower Plant Construction Projects Held in Kazakhstan.

   On May 21, 2026, auction bidding was conducted for the selection of hydropower plant (HPP) construction projects across all zones of the Unified Power System (UPS) of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with a total installed capacity of 150 MW.    Two companies were admitted to participate in the auction. During the trading session, participants submitted three price bids, while the total volume of submitted applications amounted to 36.61 MW.    According to the auction results, the following companies were declared winners: LLP “Miliar Company” was recognized as the winner for two projects: a project with an installed capacity of 16.5 MW at an auction price of KZT 41.23/kWh (excluding VAT); a project with an installed capacity of 10.1 MW at an auction price of KZT 41.13/kWh (excluding VAT). LLP “OsirisEnergo” was recognized as the winner for a project with an installed capacity of 10.01 MW at an auction price of KZT 41.18/kWh (excluding VAT).    Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan Electric Power Association participated in the auction as observers. The observers confirmed the transparency and proper operation of the electronic trading system operated by JSC “KOREM”.    The next auction bidding for the selection of hydropower plant construction projects will take place on May 22, 2026, across all zones of the UPS of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.

Auction for Wind Power Projects Successfully Concluded in May 2026.

   On May 20, 2026, an auction was held for the selection of wind power plant (WPP) construction projects in the Northern Zone of the Unified Energy System (UES) of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with a total installed capacity of 100 MW.    A total of 8 companies were admitted to participate in the auction. During the bidding session, participants submitted 25 price bids, while the total volume of submitted applications reached 800 MW.    Following the auction results, Terra Wind LLP was declared the winner. The project’s installed capacity amounts to 100 MW, with an auction tariff of KZT 12.88 per kWh (excluding VAT).    Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Qazaq Green Renewable Energy Association, the Kazakhstan Electric Power Association, and the EcoJer Kazakhstan Association of Regional Environmental Initiatives participated in the auction as observers.   The observers confirmed the transparency and proper functioning of the electronic trading platform operated by KOREM JSC.

KOREM JSC Announces the Results of the Auction for the Selection of Wind Power Plant Projects in the Northern Zone with a Total Capacity of 100 MW Held on May 19, 2026.

   On May 19, 2026, an auction was conducted for the selection of wind power plant (WPP) construction projects in the Northern Zone of the Unified Power System of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with a total installed capacity of 100 MW.    Seven companies were admitted to participate in the auction. During the trading session, participants submitted 25 price bids, while the total volume of submitted applications reached 600 MW.    Following the auction results, Plenitude Kazakhstan was declared the winner. The project’s installed capacity amounts to 100 MW, with an auction tariff of KZT 11.48/kWh (excluding VAT).    Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Qazaq Green Renewable Energy Association, Kazakhstan Electric Power Association, and Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs participated in the auction as observers. The observers confirmed the transparency and proper functioning of the electronic trading system operated by KOREM JSC.    The next auctions for the selection of WPP construction projects are scheduled for May 20, 2026, in the Northern Zone, with a total installed capacity of 100 MW.
