In Kazakhstan, auctions were held for the construction of newly commissioned generating units with a maneuverable generation mode among existing energy producing organizations.
On December 14 of this year, according to the auction schedule for the construction of newly commissioned generating units with maneuverable generation mode, an auction for the second type of bidding was held. The volume of the service for maintaining the availability of electric power amounted to 550 MW. The maximum auction price was 9,798,700 tenge/MW*month (excluding VAT).
Three companies took part in the auction. During the trading session, the total volume of applications amounted to 715 MW.
According to the results of the auction, the total volume of the selected capacity was 550 MW. The following companies were recognized as the winner of the auction:
- «Kazakhmys Energy» LLP with a volume of 70 MW;
- JSC «Almaty Electric stations» with a volume of 480 MW.
The organization and holding of these auctions is the next step in the development of the electric power sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
