Auctions for RES for the construction of a BioPP were held in Kazakhstan
On February 27, 2024, auctions for RES for the construction of a BioPP with a total installed capacity of 10 MW were held.
According to the results of the trading session, 3 companies were allowed to participate in the auction, and 4 price offers were submitted by the participants during the trading session. The declared total capacity from the auction participants amounted to 13 MW.
In accordance with subparagraph 1) paragraph 55 of the Rules for the organization and conduct of auctions, the volume of selection of installed capacity has been increased from 10 to 10.6 MW.
The starting maximum auction price during the auction for the selection of BioPP projects was 32.23 tg/kWh (excluding VAT).
During the trading session, the price range of bids received from auction participants ranged from 32.23 to 32.03 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT).
According to the results of the auction, the following companies were identified as winners:
- LLP «ZOR-Biogas» the installed capacity of the project is 2.4 MW, the auction price is 32.03 tenge/kWh (without VAT);
- LLP «Apfel Alatau» the installed capacity of the project is 3.4 MW, the auction price is 32.08 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT);
- LLP «Zor Fish» the installed capacity of the project is 4.8 MW, the auction price is 32.13 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT).
In order to comply with the requirements of the Rules for Organizing and conducting auctions, representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ALE «KAZENERGY», ALE «Kazakhstan Electric Power Association» and USAID took part as observers.
It should be noted that the auction for the type of BioPP with a total installed capacity of 10 MW was held again, since the auction previously held (November 30, 2023) was declared invalid.
