An explanatory campaign on the introduction of a Single buyer and a Balancing electric energy market has been launched
On April 19, 2023, the Head of State signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On Amendments and Additions to Some Legislative Acts on administrative reform», within the framework of which amendments were made to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On Electric Power Industry», providing for the introduction of a Single buyer and a balancing electricity market in real time from July 1 this year.
According to the draft orders of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, LLP «Settlement and Financial Center for Support of Renewable Energy Sources» was identified as a Single buyer of electric energy, and JSC «Kazakhstan Electric Energy and Capacity Market Operator» was designated as the Settlement Center of the balancing market.
In order to provide information to the subjects of the wholesale electricity market, as well as to explain the new model of the electric energy market, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of JSC «KEGOC», JSC «KOREM» and LLP «Settlement and Financial Center for Support of Renewable Energy Sources» has planned an outreach campaign to the regions of the country.
According to the Schedule of explanatory events approved by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the upcoming introduction of a Single Buyer model and a Balancing electricity market in real time, a group of experts on information and explanatory work is being sent:
May 29, 2023 – Karaganda (Central IEN), Kamskaya str. 4.
Time: from 10.00 to 16.00.
May 30, 2023 – Ekibastuz (Northern IEN), Mukhtar Auezov str. 126
Time: from 10.00 to 16.00.
