Meeting of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan with representatives of the USAID in Central Asia at the of JSC "KOREM" platform

On August 24, 2021, at the site of JSC "KOREM", representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan and the USAID in Central Asia discussed the issues of deepening of cooperation in the energy sector under the USAID Power Central Asia project.

The participants paid special attention to the project of Industry center of technological competence in the field of power industry, aimed at implementing the state policy of technological development of the industry and professional growth of the staff.

During the meeting Chairman of the JSC "KOREM" Board Bakytzhan Ilyas Nassenuly presented the new initiatives within the framework of the Industry center for technological competencies, which were met with enthusiasm by the representatives of USAID who expressed great interest in the Ministry's initiatives to create industry platforms.

In addition, the meeting addressed the topics of the RES auctions development, maneuverable generation, digitalization, and the creation of an online map of the hydro potential of Kazakhstan. The parties noted that digitalization and innovative transformation of the energy sector is a priority and identified further areas of cooperation.
