The auction for the selection of HPP projects with total installed capacity of 50 MW held on September 25, 2019 is recognized to be void in accordance with the terms specified in sub-paragraphs 1) and 2) of paragraph 51 of the Rules of organizing and holding auction, including qualification requirements for auction participants, the content and procedure for submitting applications, types of financial guarantee for participation in auction and conditions of their deposit and return, the procedure for summing up the results and determining the winner, approved by order of Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan from December 21, 2017 No. 466, the total installed capacity of applications for participation in the auction for sale, was at least 130% of the volume of demand of installed capacity and number of participants registered and admitted to the trading system of the relevant auction is less than two.

No winners defined according to the auctions results.

The representatives of the Ministry of energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the KazEnergy ALE took part in the auction as observers. The observers noted the auction to be held in accordance with approved regulatory legal acts and confirmed the transparency of electronic trading system of the auction organizer – JSC KOREM.

According to the auction schedule, approved by the order No.97 of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan as of 19.03.2019, in 2019 it is planned to hold auctions in amount of 255 MW of installed capacity, broken down by types of power plants:

• Solar Power Plants – 80 MW;
• Wind Power Plants – 100 MW;
• Hydroelectric Power Plants – 65 MW;
• BioPP – 10 MW
