KOREM JSC, as part of the Kazakh delegation, took part in the meeting of the Intergovernmental Working Group of the World Bank
On April 25, 2024, a meeting of the Intergovernmental Working Group within the framework of the project on Regional Integration and Trade in Electricity in Central Asia, organized by the World Bank, was held in Almaty.
JSC "KOREM" as part of the Kazakh delegation took part in this event.
The main purpose of the event is to discuss the detailed structure of the preferred regional market option in Central Asia within the framework of the Project on Regional Integration and Trade in Electricity in Central Asia (REMIT).
At the event, Yerzhan Madiev, Managing Director for Market Development and Trading System, took an active part in the discussions on behalf of KOREM JSC. Yerzhan Madiev presented his vision of building the structure of the Central Asian market with the ability of KOREM JSC to perform the functions of an electricity trading operator.
As the regional electricity market of Central Asia is implemented, it will be possible to achieve the main goal - optimal allocation of resources in the short term, which will increase efficiency, improve the integration of renewable energy generation and reduce the total cost of generation, including increasing the reliability of supplies.
